Topsail Re is granted operating license.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE- Topsail Re is granted operating license.

Topsail Holdings, Inc. (“Topsail”) announces that it has completed the licensing process for its Cayman Islands reinsurer, Topsail Reinsurance SPC, Ltd (“Topsail Re”).   The Cayman Islands Monetary Authority granted Topsail Re its operating license on December 4, 2018.  

Topsail is closely held with seeded capital from ultra-high net worth financial backing and is led by David D. Johnson.  Topsail Re has elected to be treated as a US tax paying entity under section 953(d) of the US tax code.

“We are excited with the significant interest that we have received since announcing the formation of Topsail Re and are pleased to be open for business for the 2019 January 1 renewal cycle” stated Johnson.  “We look forward to partnering with companies that share our long-term view.”
